Arts & Culture | Broken China

Korean artist Yee Soo-Kyung deconstructs the discarded works of Korean pottery master Lim Hang-Taek, and creates something of a paradox.  Hang-Taek is a very traditional craftsman and such a perfectionist, that he discards eighty percent of his work. Soo-Kyung uses his discards to create something contemporary and imperfect. And yet these pieces have their own sense of balance and perfection, vulnerability, and pathos.

On the surface design front, broken china can be a nice inspiration to work with the Delft Blue trend seen here and here.
