Digital | Christian Louboutin for Mary Katrantzou
For the Autumn Winter season Christian Louboutin collaborated with Mary Katrantzou to create these amazing boots which feature her designs digitally printed on to silk. A really inspirational way to present print!
Check out this short presentation video clip showing a 360 degree view of the boots.

Event | Collision
Come join us this Sunday for the opening reception of our exhibit, Collision, where surfaces collide and reflect in a new series of artwork. Inspired by parquetry, natural textures and fibers are inlaid within geometric compositions creating intricate layered imagery. Opposites attract as soft knits gain structure while marble and wood take on a quilt-like effect.
January 2nd – January 31st
Stumptown Belmont
opening reception Sunday January 8th 6 to 8pm

Art | Yayoi Kusama’s “The Obliteration Room”
from thisiscollosal
For The Obliteration Room at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Yayoi Kusama painted some domestic rooms all white and pristine. Then the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands of stickers and told to collaborate in the creation of this piece. The process and the results have a wild and free quality that is the hallmark of Kusama’s work. And collaborating with children on an art piece? What a simple but brilliant idea.

Trend | Marble
Happy New Year everyone! We’re excited to get this new year started and what better way to do it than with a DIY. Marble patterns are appearing everywhere from leather to paper goods. The ancient Japanese technique of decorating paper with ink is called Suminagashi and although complex in detail, the art of marbling is easier than you might think. Watch the clip below for some tips to help create your own designs.
Interiors | Outdoor Living
Getting ready for NYE isn’t just about finding the right outfit, but making sure your place is ready for guests both inside and out. Whether you’re planning an afternoon party in the sun or watching fireworks from your backgarden/balcony, just put up some string lights above these coloured aluminium wire chairs to brighten up the party instantly.
Have A Happy New Year!! xx
Art | Confetti System
Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho are the dynamic duo behind Confetti System, a visually interactive company who has collaborated with everyone from Opening Ceremony to Beach House. My eyes never grow tired of their work as it is absolutely stunning and visually masterful in the materials and message the installations present to their audience. They are simply the “everything I touch is gold” types and it is very apparent through their beautifully executed and flawless work. Along with their creative consulting, directing, and installation building, Confetti System also has a line of jewelry and festive objects that are sold at Creatures of Comfort, Opening Ceremony, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, and Bergdorf Goodman.

Artists | Helen Frankenthaler
Helen Frankenthaler died today at the age of 83. I’ve always admired her stained canvas paintings. They were big and gutsy, and she was one of the only women of the Abstraction movement. We’ll miss you, Helen!
