Try using zebras in your next pattern. Peter Som’s collection for Anthropologie shows some great navy on white zebras that look fresh and ready for a summer stroll. Madewell uses the animal on a neutral sweater to give it some pop and a graphic appeal.

Racket Chair | The Campana Brothers

Recycling goes to the next level with the latest furniture collection from the Campana brothers. Using brass, stitched nylon, and a hand woven design created by the remnants of Thonet chairs, the Racket chair is part of the Concepts exhibit at the Friedman Benda Gallery in New York. Running from June 5th to July 3rd, this is the first solo US show for the brothers who have won numerous awards for their innovative designs. via here

Are you feeling a little bit lazy this spring when it comes to your wardrobe? You could always tape on some details. Christopher Kane and Sarah Baadarani sure make it look fashionable. Apparently Kane wanted his lace appliques to look like they were being held on by gaffer tape in his Frankenstein-esque collections. You know when everyone was making clothing out of duct tape a few years ago? This is the much better version of that.

We just returned from speaking at the Adobe MAX Creativity Conference in Los Angeles. In our journey we documented the amazing array of patterns found in airport carpeting. There’s a definite 80s vibe to most of them. PDX opts for vibrant colors while Burbank chooses a neutral palette to help disguise dirt. Have you seen any interesting airport carpets?
