“To note something, to get noted: we are named after what we try to achieve” – Note Design Studio
Marginal Notes 2012 is the second in a series of collections designed from doodles in the margin of a page and showcased at Stockholm Design Week. Note’s inspiration comes from camping and field trips, where butterfly catchers, campfire logs and mosquito mesh have been turned into tactile and functional furniture. The vibrant colours and industrial netting combined with natural wood is classic Scandinavian style, but as the design world steps into Spring, this seems refreshing somehow. Turning doodles into design and nostalgia into furniture, Note was my favourite pick from SDW.
Scandinavian design styles are always so eyecatching, it’s nice to see some new items of furniture that don’t look straight out of an Ikea catalogue!
