Interiors | Watercolor Cushions

These Nijimi cushions by Constance Guiset are an interesting mix of soft and hard. The round pillows and watercolors should invite comfort and dreaminess. And yet the paint  looks as if it has been violently spilled all over these perfectly white cushions. The dark purple is especially jarring in its dark mushroom-cloud like shape. There is something unsettling and exciting about these cushions.

In terms of surface design inspiration, abstract watercolors make a lovely hand-painted atmospheric print. Or serve as great textures overlaid on florals or geometrics.
