Credenza Collection | Patricia Urquiola and Federico Pepe for Spazio Pontaccio

Patricia Urquiola has a way of making everything she touches turn to gold; case in point, her latest Credenza Collection designed in collaboration with graphic designer, Federico Pepe. Launched at Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier this month, the collection includes bold stained glass paneled cabinets, screens, and a table for Spazio Pontaccio, in addition to optical rugs for cctapis.

Urquiola and Pepe cite Gerhard Richter’s stained glass windows installed at Cologne Cathedral as inspiration. The contemporary glass work for the collection was produced in Italy by artisans who were more familiar with creating pieces for historic architecture, such as churches. The glass was cut and matched to drawings, then assembled and installed as delicate panels to the furniture.

We especially love the rugs. The optical effects and palette selection give the eye plenty to enjoy. Now, if only our feet could too!
